A Hunger for Film That Could Never be Slaked!

I'm interested in cinema of all types, from the avant-garde to the deliciously low-brow, from foreign artsy-fartsy to those flicks less flatulent.

Current areas of interest include: Eastern Europe, Macedonia/Balkans, Cuba, China and Southeast Asia.

- from The Wild, Wild Rose with Grace Chang.

I can see why Tsai Ming Liang pays homage Grace Chang’s songs and performances- this lady is all devastating sex and pain, soft curls and long, clawed fingers.  Her sensuality borders on vulgarity but its more that there’s so much raw power inside her that it seems inappropriate.  But don’t worry, its ok to be turned on.

If I fall in love with you, you’re going to die in my hands.

Hell yes.

This week, I’m feeling her eyes inside my chest, cynical and prescient.  I’m hearing those strange groaning roars rumble against the thin skin where neck meets ear-  just where she’s threatening to bite, from the looks of it.
